Itinerary

Day1delhi

Day 1 - Delhi

Arrive in your own time and be transferred through a charitable program "Women With Wheels" courtesy of a G Adventures project.

Day2delhi

Day 2- Delhi / Agra

Welcome to the Indian capital, a smouldering city split between the timelines of Old and New Delhi, yet remains united by the warm hearted locals who embody a sense of community like few capitals across the world. Unearth the humble and lively backstreets of Paharganj with a youth guide.

As a former street child your local guide has the inside perspective on the inner workings of the city and can provide real life accounts and true neighbourhood knowledge along your tour bringing you a step closer to authentic Indian life. The tour will in turn help support your youth guide with college tuition fees to further bolster the community.

Then step back through time to see the cities original heartbeat of winding lanes and horse drawn fruit & veg stalls. Visit the legendary Jama Masjid, India's biggest mosque briskly followed by the Sis Ganj Sahib Gurudwara. A Sikh temple that provides free food and refuge to guests on a daily basis (regardless of your race, religion or nationality).

As the evening draws to a close we'll head to Agra for the night.

Bil See The Taj Mahal Hero

Day 3 - Agra

Wake up in a city that is aching with historical depth and serves as the humble abode of one of the New 7 Wonders Of The World... The Taj Mahal. The white marble mausoleum is a spellbinding sample of architectural symmetry and Mughal influenced design that only seems to grow in beauty with each passing decade.

Head to the "baby Taj" there after, which is a the official tomb of the grandfather of Mumtaz Mahal's (the emperors wife for whom the Taj Mahal was built in honour of). For our final Agra landmark of the day head to Agra Fort, which serves as more than a passing resemblance to a walled city such is it's scale. The ruby sandstone citadel stands proud, guarding the white marble palaces within it's borders and makes for a fascinating roam during sunset.

Chandibawri

Day 4 - Agra / Jaipur

Head to the capital of Rajasthan, home of the pink city bazaar that dates back to 1727. Stop off along the way in the Mughal remnants of Fatehpur Sikri, a masterpiece that has withstood the stands of time and remains at as an open aired relic to the Mughal empire.

Head to the village of Abhaneri to walk through the labrynth like maze staircase of the Chand Baori - a stepwell that was designed over a millennia ago, yet wouldn't look out of place in an art exhibition in 2021.

Day 5 - Jaipur

Mosey around the "Pink City" of Jaipur, famed for it's densely packed bazaar serving some of India's best street food, the chole kulcha is exceptional. This is also a phenomenal place to buy souvenirs as each backstreet is littered with terracotta archways and charming salesmen looking to barter you into taking home some of the ornate handicrafts on offer.

Take a tour of the ethereal Amber Fort along the crest of the cities bordering hills and peaks. It's palace in particular is a spectacle unlike any other. Using an ancient Rajasthani technique, rare gems were crushed and formed into a paste to paint the details on the exterior and interior of the palace. Where green patterns can be seen, you're looking into crushed emeralds from hundreds of years ago, literally painted across the walls. Where red paisley can be spotted, you'll be gazing into a string of crushed ruby's that were carefully brushed onto the ceilings and archways of the palace. The precise mosaic of colours sparkle with all of the lustre that the gems used to paint them danced with.

A trip to the honeycombed windows of the Hawa Mahal for some photo ops is a must and we'll be meeting a local historian to learn about the intricate connection between the threads of the cities customs, architecture and societal fabrics that form the tapestry on which Jaipur was sewn together with.

Day 6 - Jaipur /Pachewar

Head to the peaceful village of Pachewar to enjoy an evening in a gorgeous and traditional heritage home. Explore a community that has not forgotten it's roots and meet humble locals who still earn their keep with skilled hands as potteries, silversmiths and cobblers. Float through the coiling streets to unearth temples, mud homes and street art.
