Itinerary

Amman

Day 1 - Amman

Arrive at any time.

It’s day 1 and time to settle in. Amman is a vast city that is quite sparse so to navigate your new hub will require a taxi. Today there are no planned activities, but we will be hosting a welcome meeting in the evening followed with an optional group meal. If you’d prefer explore on your own party for the evening and dive right into the explorative side of Jordan then feel free to do so! In the welcome meeting we’ll cover details of the upcoming tours and answer any budding questions you may have. For advice on where to head out to in Amman kindly ask your CEO as they have intimate knowledge of the area and can help you isolate the best way to spend your free time.

Day 2- Amman/Jerash/Dead Sea/Amman

Begin with a magical tour of the ancient town of Jerash, nicknamed the “Pompeii” of the East for being one of the most well kept ancient Greco-Roman cities boasting proud hilltop temples and city walls splintered with towers and gates.

Next head to the salt rich waters of the Dead Sea and float in what Sadghuru poetically called the “mineral soup that is like floating in the motherly sap”. The waters here are claimed to have therapeutic properties and a mud bath on the banks can add a glow to the skin. You can take a shower on the banks and clean off before being transported back to Amman in a private vehicle for the night.

Day 3- Amman/Karak/Petra

The day begins with a guided tour through the kaleidoscopic mosaics of Madaba soon followed with a climb up to the epic panoramic vantage points aloft Mt Nebo. Mt Nebo is believed by locals to be the location of Moses’ death making it a hotspot for pilgrimage dating back thousands of years. You may even be able to spot Israel in the distance on a clear day!

You’ll then have the opportunity to inspect the Crusader castle of Karak with it’s unique mixture of west European, Byzantine, and Arab design elements. In the evening we’ll head to Wadi Musa (translating to “Valley Of Moses”), a town on the periphery of Petra.

Day 4- Petra

Start the day early to make the most of your visit to the legendary city of Petra. Also known as the Rose Red city, it covers 60 km with natural landscapes, rocks and a canyon. To get there first travel through the sandstone corridors of the Siq, a 1.2 km long canyon with walls up to 182m high. This was once a sacred route to the hidden city. Your guide will then escort and educate you as you traverse the Al-Khazneh or Treasury which stands 39 m tall and is considered one of the new wonders of the modern world. You can opt to hike up to the top of the treasury or explore by yourself.

Visit the epic monuments such as the triumphal arch, the monastery and the Pharaoh’s Castle. By night try taking a traditional Turkish bath to restore your juices after a long day walking, or alternatively witness Petra by night as candles light up the Siq and Treasury and traditional Bedouin music is played to give an ethereal atmosphere to this world wander.

Day 5- Petra/Wadi Rum

Take it easy on morning 5 over breakfast or opt for an excursion to Little Petra. Today we’ll be leaving Petra and venturing out into the legendary desert dwellings of Wadi Rum. This 4x4 excursion will introduce you to the dunes and delicacies of the ancient Bedouin settlers. Traverse the arid terrain stopping off at key landmarks along the way before arriving at your new home for the evening. By evening we’ll enjoy a traditionally prepared dinner cooked in an underground oven.

As night falls you’ll be starry eyed, as the absence of light pollution makes stargazing an awesome activity thanks to the brightness of the celestial bodies above when witnessed in the calm amphitheatre of the desert. Our Bedouin hosts will share legends and stories passed through word of mouth down through the ages and if we’re lucky, even share some percussive folk music.

Day 6 - Red Sea

On day 6 we’ll head to the read sea, known for it’s shallow shelves full of corals and marine life. You can opt to pre-book an Aqaba Boat Trip with Snorkelling to add in another activity to your itinerary or if you’d rather keep your feet on solid ground explore the Red Sea resort city of Aqaba by foot. The seafood in this region is particularly fresh so be sure to sample some of the local delicacies.
