Itinerary

Buenosaires

Day 1 - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Arrive in Argentina's euro inspired Latin flavoured capital. Meet the team leaders and fellow guests and settle in for the night. You will have time to explore the city and feel it's colonial heritage in it's architecture and cuisine, and perhaps even take to a salsa lesson. Despite the city being vast with influences from Italy, Spain and France, the relaxed and warm hubris of the people combined with ornate details in the aesthetic of the city give a sense of intimacy often missed in a world full of modern mega-cities.

Ushuaia

Day 2 - Ushuaia, Argentina

At the southernmost tip of South America lies the world's most southernmost city, Ushuaia. Engulfed by sub-Antarctic forests, transpicuous lakes and diamond like glaciers. Arrive via private charter flight and step on board the Expedition Ship ready to embark on our unforgettable icy adventure.

Day 3 - Cruise Drake Passage

The historical explorer Francis Drake has been honoured as the namesake of this region. From the tip of South America through the Antarctic Convergence, the temperatures go from balmy to close to freezing almost immediately. Icebergs will begin to coalesce in the icy waters and the serene calm of the Southern Ocean will begin to make it's mark on you. Enjoy the splendid onboard dining options and engage in some briefings that will educate and prepare us for the adventures ahead.

Days 4 To 10 - Explore Antarctica

Welcome to the vast white canvas of Antarctica, painted in spots with majestic blue whales, and dotted with seals, penguins and other stunning species of wildlife. Vibrant lichens, basalt cliffs and jagged rocky beaches provide a refuge to the thick skinned wildlife that call it home. Stand among the magnificent mountains, and witness glaciers slide apart like melting ice cubes. Penguins can be found squabbling in mass colonies and seals can be spotted belly sliding across the ice for a quick plunge. Whilst the harsh terrain and conditions make it one of the most difficult habitats to survive, the communities of wildlife, long distance migration of whales and flocks of seabirds make it feel as though it's teeming with life and personality.

Day 11 - Cruise Drake Passage

As we big farewell to the epic icy white playground of Antarctica we head back through Drake Passage, a sacred leg of the journey for polar explorers. Relax in the Nordic Spa and share photos and stories with your crew mates, drink a few cold ones in the Aquavit Bar or simply learn more about this iconic waterway en-route back to South America.

Capehorn

Day 12 - Cruising Cape Horn

Cape Horn and adventure, go hand in hand like Hansel and Gretel. First rounded in 1616, it still packs the same awe inspiring punch to those witnessing it for the first time as it did over 400 years ago upon it's discovery. This is a rare and unique chance to see this immaculate drop of nature, as even many who have explored Antarctica have only crept with a glancing look.

Ushuaia2

Day 13 - Ushuaia, Argentina

Finally we return to the "End of the Earth" as it's known, in Ushuaia the world's most southernmost city. We'll say farewell to our crewmates and team leaders, and aboard a charter flight to Argentina's bright and beaming capital, Buenos Aires. Here you'll be free to stay in Argentina and explore further still, or head back home to share the ethereal tale you've been on with your friends and loved ones. If you're still feeling eager to tick more off of your bookitlist before returning home, Patagonia is another remarkable example of nature in this region of the world well worth exploring.
