A natural paradise of scenic valleys, striking volcanoes, stunning coastlines and lucious forests brimming with kaleidoscopic flora and fauna. We'll visit Monteverde, home to the most famous of Costa Rica’s renowned cloud forests. Enjoy an overnight stay in the rainforest and gaze upon the epic features of the Arenal Volcane. Glide by boat, and kayak through the waterways of Tortuguero and tread through a handful of the world's most eco-conscious national parks! This is the ultimate 11 days of discovery in Costa Rica.
Arrive in San Jose and be transferred to your hotel for your first night in Costa Rica. We'll meet the team leaders and settle in with some traditional local food.
Today we'll have the opportunity to head to Tortuguero National Park. This slice of Central American paradise is a distinct eco-system full of rainforest flora and fauna and coiling canals. We'll take a boat journey to our lodge and have chances to spot wildlife along the way. The afternoon will include a visit to the local Tortuguero village.
Day 3 sees us board a boat and glide through the canals of the lush rainforest fauna. We'll even have the opportunity to explore by kayak and get closer to the action, or simply take a leisurely walk through the numerous trails.
Head to Sarapiqui, and trek through the nature reserves in one of the world's most eco-conscious nature expeditions. Our lodges are nestled within the heart of Costa Rica's rainforest, and we will have time to take things slow or really stretch our legs and soak in the surrounding nature.
Today we'll travel to Arenal to visit one of the most iconic Costa Rican sights, the Arenal Volcano. It's currently dormant making it safe to traipse around and makes for one of the most spectacular nature photo opportunities imaginable.
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the surroundings at your own pace, or relax in the natural volcanic hot springs at your hotel. Later on, gain a further insight into Costa Rican nature on a night walk to discover some of the country's nocturnal wonders, followed by a delicious typical dinner will be prepared on a wood-burning stove.
On this day, you'll have the opportunity to choose one of these three activities, to experience this incredible place in just the way you want.
Natural World Experience - Arenal Volcano Park
Arenal Volcano National Park is undoubtedly one of the most visited in Costa Rica. Today you will walk along some of its numerous trails to come as close as possible to the volcano, a true wonder of the natural world!
Wildlife Experience - Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges
Located at 600 metres above sea level, this park is 250 hectares of mature forest and a haven of biodiversity. The treetops here provide the perfect environment for a high diversity of birds, mammals, butterflies and more. Spot the incredible wildlife from the top whilst you walk along the park’s hanging bridges.
Cultural Experience - Coffee & Chocolate Tour
Gain an insight into one of Costa Rica's biggest exports and learn about the cultivation and coffee making processes from bean to cup, as well the drink's importance in the country's economy. You will also learn about chocolate production and harvesting, as well as sampling the popular sweet treat!
Today you will travel overland to Monteverde. Situated at 1440 metres above sea level, Monteverde is known for its cloud-shrouded forests which provide an ideal environment for plentiful wildlife to thrive.
Take a guided tour into the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and explore the unique ecosystem whist trying to spot some of the area’s hundreds of species of birds, including the elusive quetzal.
Take the scenic overland transfer back to the capital for one last night in Costa Rica before heading back home.
Today you will be transferred to the international airport for your onward travel arrangements.

We meet in San Jose on day, from that point on our guides will handle transport and everything else so you can just quite literally enjoy the ride.
UK passport holders currently don't need a visa to Vietnam as you'll be given a visa on arrival.
With the amount of exercise we'll be doing, and the warmer, more humid climate of South East Asia, light breathable clothing that easily dries is recommended. Keep yourself cool!
