As far as colourful gay pride events go, WorldPride is the heart of the rainbow and culminates in an open-armed street party with over 600,000 people!
Paint the town red... and Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet! WorldPride is not just another Pride event, it is THE Pride event that waves a rainbow coloured flag of acceptance in the air and plants it firmly in the ground of progress. Copenhagen is a liberal, open-armed city that welcomes you to explore its Nordic nuances and pristine waterways. We'll then get the privilege of witnessing the closing Pride march, which will be a fenceless fiesta that you can join in with along the route and truly be part of the festivities!
Much like the Pride event and what it stands for, this trip is fluid and can be adapted to your mood. Rather than giving a strict itinerary, we're going to cover the essential components and let you decide how to spend your time.
On arrival, you'll check in to your hotel in the heart of glorious Copenhagen. We've carefully chosen the ideal hotel that fuses luxury with location, elegance with convenience so you can get a good nights rest and stay full of energy to show your pride!
The city will be parsed into villages each with its own unique theme and set of activities and attractions. At the heart of these villages will be the 'main village' located in the immediate vicinity of City Hall Square in the center of the city. They'll be free of charge shows and other cultural events taking place from late afternoon long into the night.
Several other villages will also be dotting up around Copenhagen to add to the fun. The most prominent of which is likely to be Sports Village for the EuroGames athletes. If you're into getting fit, or just watching great athletes work up a sweat and compete then this is definitely a village for you.
Other villages include ones centred around kids and families, youth, women and the queer community. Whilst each village has its own theme, all are welcome to any and all of the villages. This is a festival of inclusion afterall!
A pride event is only as good as it's march, and this is the best march around.
Copenhagen 2021 will have not only one, but two marches! Malmo and Copenhagen are joining up to create an opening and closing pride march to celebrate the opening and closing of the WorldPride 2021 festival. More than 600,000 are expected to be part of the closing ceremony march in Copenhagen.
The unique twist on this pride march is there will be no fencing along the route. That means it's an open-armed invitation for you to go from onlooker to proud marcher in your own right! Join the march and step in unison to celebrate diversity and acceptance.
With an estimated 750,000 people coming to celebrate WorldPride 2021 Copenhagen, you'll need to know where the best parties are happening so you can cut your way through the crowds and find the best dancefloors and bars possible.
For a bohemian red-light-district affair head to Vesterbro, with cool bars and trendy cocktails that'll have your insta following jealous. Kødbyen is more suited to culture vultures with some ornate galleries and fine eateries, and Nørrebro is your warm-hearted humble drinking neighbourhood that leaves out unnecessary pomp for good local beers and a hearty atmosphere.
They'll also be many signature parties outside of the city center at indoor venues hosting between 2,000-3,000 party goers. The final signature party, however, will return to the city for a monumental street party.
