Milan is a fashion epicentre, with a cathedral gem so ornate, it took nearly 6 centuries to complete it's construction. This long weekend break has an itinerary that has been carefully sculpted to perfection in respect of the aesthetic grandeur and historical artistry of the city. Breathe in the gothic cathedral of Doumo di Milano, climb across the rooftop of the Renaissance Revival architecture of the Galleria, inspect DaVinci's masterpiece the last supper and head out on a stunning day trip to Como Lake. Como Lake is an opulent smorgasbord of fine dining, glacial lake boat trips and mountainous backdrops. This is long weekend break combines Milan's finest contours and features, with Como Lake's elegant nature, tailor fitted into the perfect 3 Night Milan & Lake Como Break.
Arrive in the morning and check into Hotel Milano Castello just a few metres from the famous Milan Cathedral. Once you're settled head out for a weekend of activities and exploration.
Our first activity will be just a few steps away as we waste no time in getting a guide tour through one of Italy's if not Europe's most spectacular architectural accomplishments in Milan Cathedral. It's Gothic facade and obscenely ornate details are hypnotic and seem to deepen with complexity the longer examined. This skip the line ticket allows us to enjoy all of the pleasantries without any of the waiting around. We'll then head to the rooftop for a stunning Milanese panorama and you can pose as a Gargoyle for a unique profile picture between the spires.
After the tour is over you'll have time for a spot of dinner and exploration before we make the most of the evening with a trip to the QC Termemilano. This former tram station is now an underground lair, with a labrynth of stone rooms featuring warm baths, geyser pools, a Jacuzzi waterfall and more. Outside, Enjoy one of their famous therapies or relax in the private garden beside the three heated pools.
For night time drinks and food we recommend browsing the riverside neighbourhood of Navigli.
Enjoy a 3-hour private guided tour of the Sforza Castle and the Santa Maria Delle Grazie.
You'll be given ample time to explore the grounds and learn about the storied history of the Visconti and Sforza dynasties. Next we'll head to Santa Maria Delle Grazie
to gaze upon Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper masterpiece.
In the afternoon we'll head to the iconic structures, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This is a must go to spot for an aperitivo or coffee and all Milanese have been here to basque in a caffeine infused sense of wander at the splendid design of it all. Explore the highline and see Milan from a new vantage point, spotting other majestic landmarks from un high. The night time will be yours to spend as you wish. Walk along famous shopping streets splurging on designer goods, or head to Isola for a look at Milan's more creative up and coming side.
Just a short train ride away on the boundries of Switzerland lies the glacial beauty of Como Lake. This walking tour includes an epic Lake Como cruise where you'll witness snow-peaked mountains playing backdrops to some of the most majestic waterside villa's in the world. You can take a gondola from Como to Brunate and indulge in a glass of Italy's finest wines. It's no wonder celebrities are often spotted holidaying here. Stop and explore the quaint backstreets of Bellagio before heading back to Milan.
It's been a beautiful long weekend and it's time to say goodbye with a phone full of awesome selfie's and a stomach full of sumptuous Milanese food. Perhaps time for one last classic Italian breakfast.
