Glamour, charisma, mystery, and a little bit of magic – that's Shanghai. Shanghai is a time warp. Look one way and you're in a futuristic, sci-fi dream, turn the other, and you're in an art deco city of the 1920s, then walk a few streets back and you'll dive into an ancient market town. But then again, what would you expect from China's largest city.
Divided by the mighty Huangpu River, Shanghai is a global centre for finance, innovation and home to the world's busiest container port. Although a sprawling metropolis of over 1000 square miles, each of Shanghai's neighbourhoods has their own character. It's a city which throngs with commerce, culture and cuisine. It's city you'll love to visit and to which you'll long to return.

You'll need Chinese Yuan in Shanghai. Many places will accept cards and ATMs are everywhere.
Yes, you will need to apply for a visa well before you travel. In our experience from the UK, this is a pretty long process which involves sending your passport to the Chinese consulate. You can apply for a ten-year multiple entry visa if you plan to visit China more than once.
The Shanghai summers can be sweltering and humid, and the winters can be cold. Avoid these extremes by travelling (if possible) between March-May and September-November.
Rob was a fantastic guide. The trip was very enjoyable and Robs knowledge and expertise were great. Would defo recommend
Excellent service from start to finish. I booked the National 3 Peasks challenge in 24 hours. i had regular communication from Rob and the team prioe to the event checking in on my progress, which really spurred me on as well as a helpful fitness plan i has to folow. For the challenge itself Rob and Tim really helped put the group at ease, and was very encouraging. Such a credit to business. i would not hesitate at all in recommending bookitlist to friends and family and will define use again in the future. Thank you for pushing me to finish the challenge!
