A safari journey of a lifetime, through the wildlife-filled plains of Tanzania, home to over 400 species of fauna.
Explore the country's most wildlife-rich regions, including, the world-famous Serengeti National Park, and a real-life 'Garden of Eden'. Get up close and personal with all manner of incredible animals including, 'The Big 5'; meet local indigenous groups; immerse yourself in traditional cultural activities and enjoy the breathtaking beauty and tranquillity of nature as you bed down in eco-lodges in the heart of the country's most beautiful national parks.
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and be picked up and transferred to Tarangire, a beautiful national park famed for its marvellous baobab trees, rolling savannah, and acacia woodland. The park's eponymous river is its lifeblood, supporting the diversity of flora and fauna. Once you arrive you will enjoy lunch among the beautiful surroundings, and then begin your game drive, finishing in the early evening when you will be dropped off at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Lake Manyara National Park, which is renowned for its fabulous pink
flamingos and tree-climbing lions. Its landscapes include swamps, grassy floodplains, groundwater forests with Trichilia Roka, and Acacia trees, along with Commiphora woodlands. You will spend the day exploring the park, and from the safety of the vehicle will get up close to its array of animals which include, lions, hippos, antelopes, impalas, zebras, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards and hyenas, along with a myriad of bird species. In the afternoon you'll stop for a picnic lunch in the park, then continue with your game drive until the evening when you'll be driven to Eileens Trees Inn to enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Today you will arrive in Serengeti National Park, one of Africa's best and most iconic safari destinations, it is home to lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elands, giraffes, gazelles, crocodiles, and much more. You will be collected from your hotel in the morning and driven to the park where you will spend the day exploring. In the evening you will be dropped off at Thorn tree tented Lodge where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
There is so much to see in the Serengeti National Park, and your second day will be spent experiencing the incredible array of life it has to offer. Your guide will take you around the Seronera area which, due to its unique ecosystem, supports a great diversity of wildlife than anywhere else in the Serengeti. It is one of the best places on the continent to spot large predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, and on any given day you can also expect to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest and many other species.
After a packed day of safari, you will return to the Thorn Tree tented Lodge to enjoy dinner and spend the night close to nature.
After breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. One of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, nicknamed ‘The Garden of Eden’ due to its abundance of wildlife. The view from the crater floor is simply incredible with pastel-coloured landscapes packed with all manner of wildlife floor. Animal spotting is easy in this largely flat and open crater, and you can expect to see lions, hyenas and jackals as well as elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, ostriches and rhinos. Lunch will be served at the edge of a beautiful lake. In the evening you will depart for Eyasi Safari Lodge (located just outside the park), where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to Lak Eyasi where you will meet the Bushmen. One of Africa’s oldest indigenous groups, the bushmen have retained their traditional way of life, and you will have the chance to experience their unique customs and join them as they hunt in the bushes. In Following a picnic lunch, in the afternoon you will continue the walking safari by visiting the Datoga people and their world-famous hand-crafted metalworks.
In the evening, you will be driven to Eileens Trees Inn where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, you will pack your things and be driven to Arusha via Mto wa mbu for some traditional local activities. Enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of nature as you stroll through the village, and to nearby banana farms, rice plantations and waterfalls; enjoy some traditional local food and meet local families and see how banana beer is made; watch the Makonde tribe produce traditional carved artworks.
In the late afternoon, you'll be driven back to Kilimanjaro airport. It's time to head home, refreshed, and with a head full of incredible memories that you'll never forget.
