STA Travel Go BUST As Old Fashioned Travel Businesses Continue To Struggle
STA Travel have now officially fell thanks to the difficulties of doing business during the covid pandemic. The company specialised in trips for young people, students in particular and had a plethora of options for those looking to explore the world during a gap year.
It was running more than 50 high-street shops in the UK during it's hey day and now is completely out of business.
Those with bookings with STA will according to the firm "receive further communication in the coming days. We are sorry for the inconvenience and the limited information available to you at this time".
500 Jobs Will Likely Be Lost
Most who bought under STA will be Atol protected, which is the gold standard for insurance of holiday bookings.
It's now becoming a more appetising prospect to book with companies who offer the same ABTA memebrship and Atol protection for your travels, but don't carry the huge bloated staff of major cooperation.
Local estate agents are more likely to stay afloat given their much smaller costs of operation and booking with titans like Virgin Holidays is no longer the consensus go to for holiday makers.
The silver lining is bookings are becoming more secure, and more common by the day.
