San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Bridge Is Housing More Songs Than The Sydney Opera House?!

San Francisco’s world famous Golden Gate Bridge has started doing it’s best impression of the Sydney Opera House, by being home to some esoteric sounds as reported by the locals.

The bridge has recently started voicing a mechanical, melancholic song of it’s own but sadly for those who are into paranormal activity, there is a perfectly reasonable and mundane reason for the new noises.

New sidewalk slats have been installed to help cope with wind resistance on the bridge, but the unanticipated side effect is the whistling winds now howling as they cut through the slats.

The official release on the noises when reported by the locals is:

"The Golden Gate Bridge Sargent reports the low humming noise is related to high winds blowing through the newly installed railing slats along the bike path on the bridge,"

"The Golden Gate Bridge has started to sing,"

"The new musical tones coming from the bridge are a known and inevitable phenomenon that stem from our wind retrofit during very high winds."

Remember being a child and splitting a single blade of grass to create a makeshift, hay fever inducing reed?

This is the engineering grown up version of that.

Given the slats were necessary precautions to retain the structural integrity of the bridge, it’s difficult to label this as an error by whoever commissioned the slats, but that will come as little consultation to those living within earshot of the new Golden Gate Bridge/Chorus/Verse.
