Good News For Sustained Travel As Greece & Portugal Stay On Quarantine-Free Travel Destinations

Despite the gloomy outlook, Portugal and Greece have both been given the green light to maintain there quarantine-free status, despite panicked brits abroad booking early flights home in anticipation of a rule change.

The UK still doesn't have a uniform agreement on measures, as Wales added Portugal to their quarantine list. Scotland also followed suit and added Portugal to their list of countries that would require a 14 day quarantine period for anyone entering the country from Portugal.

It was largely thought that ministers would be reimposing the quarantine measures for Brits returning from Portugal, after seeing their infection rate per 100,000 rise above the threshold of 20. But much to the surprise (and delight) of holidaymakers that is not the case.

On Thursday 3rd September, Grant Shapps, the transport secretary, said in a tweet:
