Need A Winter Escape - The Canary Islands Are The Perfect Getaway

The coronavirus pandemic has crippled the tourism sector across the world, but not all countries experienced equal difficulties. Among Europe Spain was one of the worst hit with it relying much more heavily on tourism than neighbouring economies. August saw the numbers decreased by almost 75% compared to the same time last year.

However silver linings are sprouting as the Canary Islands, one of Britains most beloved destinations has now been giving the all clear and all travel restrictions have been lifted. Germany also followed suit in deeming the Canary Islands safe to visit.

The Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has implemented a curfew from 11pm to 6am across Spain, but the rules have not been extended to the Canary Islands, meaning you are free to frolic in the mediterranean warmth for as long as your feet will carry you.

Winter breaks are a key part of Spains overall tourism sector, and Brits looking to escape the incoming temperature drop will be pleased to know that even in December the average temperatures are around 21 degrees celsius. Just 44 cases per 100,000 in the last week were reported in the region, the lowest of any Spanish region by far.

If you're not enjoying the colder weather, the increase in rainfall and the gusts of wind pinching at your ankles then look at these bargains for a winter break you deserve.
